Tucked away on Tasmania’s spectacular East Coast, Hazards Hideaway is the kind of place where the pace naturally slows. Here, there are no crowds to contend with — just sweeping views across Great Oyster Bay to the Hazards, the sound of native birds, and the chance to spot dolphins or whales passing through the bay.

The property is designed for privacy, tranquillity and togetherness without sacrificing personal space. Two freestanding villas — The Waterfront and The Boat House — are rented exclusively to one group at a time, so the entire retreat is yours to enjoy.

For couples, The Waterfront provides a cosy one-bedroom escape, with the extraordinary coastal outlook visible from every room. The bedroom can be configured as a luxurious king or two singles.

If you’re travelling with a third or fourth guest, The Boat House – a separate first-storey suite with its own deck and breathtaking views, becomes part of your stay. The two buildings are connected by a courtyard, giving friends and family their own space while remaining close enough to gather together.

The retreat has everything you need to settle in for your stay – a fully equipped kitchen with gas cooktop, BBQ facilities, comfortable furnishings, luxury beds, free Wi-Fi, heating and air-conditioning, electric blankets, and TVs/DVD players in both buildings.

In the cooler months, the wood fire adds another layer of warmth and atmosphere, with the fireplace available from May to September.

And when you’re ready to explore, the beach is only a few minutes’ walk away. Freycinet National Park, Friendly Beaches, the local golf course and Coles Bay are all within a short drive. Bushwalk through the national park, challenge yourself on Mt Amos, or, weather permitting, make your way to the unforgettable sands of Wineglass Bay.

But perhaps the greatest luxury at Hazards Hideaway is having nowhere you need to be.

A few days here may be all it takes to switch off, breathe deeply and recharge — surrounded by wild beauty, extraordinary views and the quiet feeling that, for a little while, this beautiful corner of Tasmania belongs entirely to you.

Please note: Because the sleeping areas are separated and there is an unfenced cliff nearby, Hazards Hideaway is not suitable for young children.
